I have tried directly from HP and it fails to install as well. Two Hewlett Packard Updates from Windows Update and they Fail. It is installed on the network and on another laptop in the household, but it won't complete the install on my computer.

The only circumstance for which you should get a printer driver from Windows Update is when no driver is available from the printer manufacturer for your edition of Windows (which is, unfortunately, becoming more common). Moreover, if you do want to update a printer driver (because (a) you know that the new version fixes a specific problem you have or (b) you know that the new version adds a feature that you want or need), you should ONLY get the updated driver from the printer Contrary to what you may read elsewhere, you do NOT need to regularly update your drivers, particularly printer drivers.
